Authenticity and inspection process

At TimeDrip AB, authenticity is the most important thing we work with. Every TAG Heuer Quartz watch that leaves our warehouse is checked according to a set process before it's shipped to you.

How we verify authenticity

  1. Reference check. We compare reference number, serial number and model designation against TAG Heuer's documentation.
  2. Visual inspection. Case, dial, hands, crystal, crown, bracelet and clasp are examined for signs of tampering or aftermarket parts.
  3. Function test. Dial, date, crown and pushers are tested. The quartz movement is checked to make sure it keeps accurate time.
  4. Accessories. We confirm the watch is delivered with original box, warranty card, manuals and any extra links or straps.

Original box and warranty card

Every watch is sold with an original box and a completed or accompanying warranty card. The warranty card serves as proof of authenticity and shows the reference number, serial number and purchase date.

To keep prices down, we do not issue separate certificates from an independent watchmaker. Customers who want such a certificate can have the watch inspected by an authorised watchmaker or service centre after purchase. We always recommend keeping the original box, warranty card and receipt together – it's the best way to preserve the watch's value and documentation.

How to read the documentation

  • The reference number is printed on the warranty card and inside the case back. It should match the model designation on the dial and the box.
  • The serial number is unique to each watch and is found on the case back. It should match the warranty card.
  • The warranty card usually shows where and when the watch was sold. If the card is blank, you can fill in the purchase date yourself and keep it together with your TimeDrip AB receipt.
  • The original box should match the model's size and year. Older models may have a slightly different box design than current ones.

What's included in delivery?

Normally the watch, original box, outer carton, warranty card, instruction booklet and any extra bracelet links that came with the watch are included. The exact contents can vary depending on whether the watch is new or pre-owned and what the EU-based seller had available at purchase.

Important about warranties

Since we are an independent grey-market dealer and not an authorised TAG Heuer retailer, TAG Heuer's 5-year warranty does not apply through us. Instead, we provide our own TimeDrip warranty of 2 years from the delivery date, covering manufacturing defects and faults in the movement and components. Read more about the warranty's scope on the About us.
